Daly to Oversee OBI Brand and Sales Development
(Seattle, WA) March 8, 2023 – OBI Seafoods is pleased to announce the promotion of John Daly to the newly created role of Vice President of Sales and Marketing within the company. Daly joined OBI in February of 2021 where he has managed the company’s large shelf stable Alaska salmon program – the largest in the nation – and successfully established and maintained strong business relationships. In his new role as VP of Sales and Marketing, Daly will oversee OBI’s brand development, canned and frozen sales strategy, and will continue to cultivate relationships with OBI’s global customer base.
“John has excelled in his role in canned sales for OBI, and we’ve been incredibly pleased with the results of his hard work,” said OBI Seafoods CEO, Mark Palmer. “As OBI continues to grow in the global market, we look forward to seeing John take on this new role, developing marketing programs that will offer great value to our sales and customers.”
Prior to working for OBI, Daly spent 13 years at Peter Pan Seafoods where he held management roles in quality assurance, sales, and category management, before ultimately serving as Director of Sales and Marketing. He has also been active with the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute since 2015, serving on various committees including the Salmon and Domestic Marketing Committees. Daly’s years of proven expertise, combined with his energy and commitment to Alaska seafood, make him well prepared for this new role.
“I am proud and excited to continue my journey with OBI Seafoods in the role of VP of Sales & Marketing,” said Daly. “It has been a delight to be a part of such a dynamic team these past two years, and I’m honored to have the opportunity to continue to meaningfully contribute toward maximizing the value, reach and sustainability of Alaska seafood with our customers. OBI Seafoods has a strong legacy in providing premium wild Alaska seafood, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to focus on continuing that tradition.”
Daly begins this new role ahead of Seafood Expo North America in Boston, taking place March 12-14, where OBI looks forward to exhibiting and to celebrate the news with members of the industry in person.
