Overview

GREAT SEAFOOD FROM THE GULF OF ALASKA

OBI Seafoods Alitak is located in Lazy Bay on the southern tip of Kodiak Island. Built in 1917, it is one of the few continuously operating seafood plants in Alaska. The plant is quite remote with no village, no roads, and no airplane landing strip. It can only be reached by boat, barge or float plane and must generate its own electricity and make its own fresh water. This plant processes and cans pink, sockeye, and keta salmon, and also processes halibut, herring and sablefish.

Plant Seasons

Our Alitak plant will not process fish during the 2022 season, but will be offering fishermen services. Please see our fleet page for a full list of available services.

WORKING IN ALITAK

"What I like most about working in Alaska is that it is ALASKA! When I tell people I live and work in Alaska, they always sigh and say how much they want to go to Alaska. It is just a great state and every day is an adventure."
