Overview
A HISTORY OF BRISTOL BAY SOCKEYE
OBI Seafoods Egegik is located in a small Alaska Native village on the shores of Bristol Bay that has been a salmon production center since the early 1900s. Started as a cannery to capture and preserve the world’s largest harvest of sockeye salmon, the plant now also includes modern filleting equipment. OBI Egegik is one of the company’s most remote locations and this contributes to the close-knit community there. The plant produces canned and frozen sockeye salmon.
