Overview
IN THE HEART OF ICY STRAIT
Originally built in 1908, the Excursion Inlet cannery was one of seven canneries that were established throughout history in the Icy Strait district, and it is the only one remaining. When this cannery first opened, the most common catch method for salmon in this area was with floating fish traps! Located in a remote part of southeast Alaska, the plant primarily produces canned pink and keta salmon.
